Volunteers are at the heart of WAF's work. By giving your time, energy, and skills, you help deliver care directly to Somali communities.

Membership

Join a Somali-led team doing real work

WAF members take part in every campaign โ€” from Udhiya distributions to university counseling. Membership is open to anyone 18+ who supports the Foundation's mission, vision, and values.

How volunteering works

Apply to volunteer

Complete the application form with your basic information, valid ID, areas of interest, and availability.

Application review

The Membership Committee reviews each application to ensure a good fit for both the volunteer and the program.

Orientation & onboarding

Once approved, you'll receive an orientation covering WAF's mission, values, and code of conduct.

Membership requirements

The official criteria to become a member of the Wabar Ahmed Foundation, as set by the Foundation's Board.

Must be at least 18 years old (or as decided by the Foundation's Board), support and agree with the mission, vision, and values of the Foundation, and not be involved in activities that conflict with the Foundation's objectives.
